Ayogya 2 review: 7.1/10, Must Watch

Kannada · Sandalwood · Released 07 Aug 2026

ReviewHub score: 7.1/10 · Verdict: Must Watch — based on 13 YouTube reviews (11 positive, 2 mixed, 0 negative).

Sadhu Kokila steals every scene he's in - which, eight sequel-years later, may be the only thing here that's actually grown.

Story

After winning the councilor election, Siddegowda sets his sights on the presidency, backed by 16 of 22 councilors. Alongside allies Benne and Mutton, he plots his campaign - but rival Bachegowda moves to sabotage it. Desperate to stop defections, Siddegowda kidnaps the 16 councilors, only to be betrayed by them at the ballot, handing Bachegowda the win. As his ruthless tactics come to light, the councilors are left fearing what he might do next.

What works

  • Sadhu Kokila's comedy is a consistent, widely-praised highlight
  • Satish carries the film with a genuine backbone performance
  • Authentic Mandya village setting and dialect give it a distinct flavor
  • A strong final act, anchored by the mother-son beat and the MLA-reveal twist

What doesn't

  • The hero's arc shows little real growth despite the setup
  • A cameo appearance and the intro fight feel forced
  • Story feels somewhat dated for an 8-years-later sequel
  • A few heroine-centric scenes border on uncomfortable for family viewing

What each reviewer said

  • Newz Alert (Kannada) — Good Watch, 7/10
“Sadhu Kokila's comedy and a genuine surprise climax cameo are highlights, and the political/village-development themes land well, but the hero's arc shows little real growth or responsibility despite the setup. Bottom line: entertaining overall, with some legitimate rough edges.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Kadakk Cinema (Kannada) — Good Watch, 7/10
“Satish carries the film as its backbone and Ravi Shankar makes a welcome return to form, in authentically shot village settings. A cameo feels forced and the intro fight drags. Bottom line: fans of the first film's world will enjoy this, though it's thinner on deep storytelling.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Aj Public Review (Kannada) — Must Watch, 8/10
“Audience reactions here singled out the final 25 minutes and the mother-son emotional beat as the film's biggest highlight, calling it a genuine hit. Bottom line: strong family-entertainer word of mouth.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Filmy Pack Karnataka (Kannada) — Good Watch, 7/10
“Street reactions praised Satish, the direction, and Sadhu Kokila's comedy specifically, with several highlighting the climax's MLA-reveal twist. Bottom line: a crowd-pleasing family entertainer.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Review Corner (Kannada) — One-Time Watch, 6/10
“Sharp one-liner writing and Sadhu Kokila's comedy genuinely land, but the story feels dated for an 8-years-later sequel and some heroine-centric scenes border on uncomfortable for family viewing. Bottom line: above-average for Ayogya fans specifically, less so otherwise.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Name is Madhu (Kannada) — Good Watch, 7/10
“The comic trio's dynamic and authentic Mandya dialect give this a distinctly grounded, genuine Kannada village flavor that stands out. Bottom line: a solid family watch, especially for small-town audiences.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Digital Power Guru (Kannada) — Good Watch, 7/10
“Audience reactions praised Ravi Shankar and Satish's performances, with one fellow artist saying they wanted to support this kind of content-driven Kannada filmmaking. Bottom line: warmly received, with hopes already voiced for a part three.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • SStv (Kannada) — Good Watch, 7/10
“The lead's entry scene got the theatre buzzing, and the reviewer calls it solid, comedy-heavy escapism for the whole family. Bottom line: a genuine crowd-pleaser.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Vishwavani TV Special (Kannada) — One-Time Watch, 6/10
“The comedic trio and a creative interval twist work well, and Sadhu Kokila's comedy is a genuine highlight, but the second half has weaker logic and an unconvincing cameo. Bottom line: solid but light on real novelty.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Mr.D Pictures (Kannada) — Good Watch, 7/10
“Audience reactions singled out Sadhu Kokila's comedy and the overall cast performances as the standout draws. Bottom line: a good, comedy-forward family watch.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Namma KFI (Kannada) — Must Watch, 8/10
“A Sadhu Kokila-style recreation of a famous KGF action beat is the standout moment, and audience ratings ran as high as 10/10. Bottom line: called the year's number-one film by multiple viewers.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Power TV News (Kannada) — Good Watch, 7/10
“This is premiere-event coverage — cast and crew reacting to opening-weekend success (60-70% occupancy, sold-out late shows) — rather than a critical assessment of the film itself. Bottom line: genuine excitement from the team, though no real critique to weigh.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • FDFS Kannada (Kannada) — Must Watch, 8/10
“First-day-first-show crowd called it a blockbuster, with Sadhu Kokila's comedy and Ravichandran's fight scene singled out as favourites. Bottom line: an enthusiastic, full-family recommendation from the theatre crowd.” Watch the review on YouTube
