Judaa review: 6.5/10, Must Watch

Punjabi · Pollywood · Released 21 Aug 2026

ReviewHub score: 6.5/10 · Verdict: Must Watch — based on 12 YouTube reviews (10 positive, 1 mixed, 1 negative).

A debutant lead good enough to carry a screenplay that was already feeling dated when someone first wrote it.

Story

A deeply moving love story about friendship, sacrifice, and the enduring power of love and education. Harbans, once a bright and spirited young man, sacrifices his love for Gaggi to protect his friendship with Gurdeep. When tragedy changes their lives forever, Harbans dedicates himself to fulfilling Gaggi's dream of bringing education to every child. A poignant tale of love that transcends separation, reminding us that true love lives on through sacrifice, memories, and the dreams of those we cherish.

What works

  • The debutant lead's acting wins over audiences and critics alike
  • A genuinely moving mother-son bond scene
  • Successfully blends comedy and emotional drama
  • Strong, enthusiastic opening-day reception

What doesn't

  • A few slow stretches drag the pacing
  • Screenplay feels outdated and predictable in places
  • One reviewer felt the twist was telegraphed well before the interval
  • Criticized by at least one reviewer for an excessive number of songs

  • Sukhveer Talk (Punjabi) — Good Watch, 8/10
“A detailed personal take that praises the lead's acting debut but feels his college-student look could've been toned down, noting a few slow stretches before a climax that recontextualizes everything. Rates it 8/10. Bottom line: A surprisingly emotional watch let down only by minor casting choices.” Watch the review on YouTube

Bottom line: Predictable and overstuffed with music - this one struggles to justify its runtime.” Watch the review on YouTube
