Once More review: 6.4/10, Good Watch

Tamil · Kollywood · Released 28 Aug 2026

ReviewHub score: 6.4/10 · Verdict: Good Watch — based on 12 YouTube reviews (7 positive, 4 mixed, 1 negative).

Reviewers keep calling it 'Mani Ratnam-style' - a compliment the screenplay doesn't always cash, especially by the fifth song.

Story

Caught in grief, Raghu meets Anjali, who tries everything to win his heart. "Once More" explores how love always finds its way back, often through unexpected people. A heartwarming story of second chances, healing, and bittersweet closure.

      What each reviewer said

      • Trendswood Tv (Tamil) — One-Time Watch, 6/10
“Calls the story familiar with nothing new in its structure, but says the writing and music still make it connect emotionally in places. Explicitly notes this will only work for audiences who enjoy slow-paced feel-good romances. Bottom line: A niche-appeal watch - great if that's your genre, skippable if not.” Watch the review on YouTube
      • Bingoo Box (Tamil) — Good Watch, 7.5/10
“Enthusiastic street reactions calling this Aditi Shankar's best performance yet and praising Arjun Das's against-type, jolly college-boy role. Bottom line: A wholesome film this crowd wants to watch again with family and friends.” Watch the review on YouTube
      • Thi Cinemas (Tamil) — Good Watch, 6.5/10
“Family-friendly street reactions with no adult content flagged, praising the two lead performances, though a few noted minor lag in both halves. Bottom line: A safe, feel-good watch families can enjoy together.” Watch the review on YouTube

      • NewsBeez (Tamil) — Good Watch, 7/10
“Praises Arjun Das's against-type casting, the music, and a visual style reminiscent of a real Mani Ratnam film, calling the story a rare, relatable throwback to old-school romance. Bottom line: A visually beautiful, emotionally connected watch.” Watch the review on YouTube
      • Recent Voice (Tamil) — One-Time Watch, 6/10
“Calls it a slow, old-fashioned romantic drama that could have used more comedy, though praises the lead chemistry and Aditi Shankar's performance, noting supporting characters are underused. Bottom line: A decent, if unhurried, watch - not a spectacle, but 'worth it.'” Watch the review on YouTube
      • KS Review (Tamil) — One-Time Watch, 6/10
“A candid, self-described uncertain take - praises the performances and music but has reservations about the story and an oddly rough opening stretch, self-rating it around 5-6 out of 10. Bottom line: A decent watch, though even this reviewer isn't fully sold.” Watch the review on YouTube
      • AMN Tv (Tamil) — Good Watch, 6.5/10
“Praises Arjun Das in an against-type romantic role and calls the story different, though feels the screenplay slows down in the second half. Bottom line: A good feel-good watch, best enjoyed with someone you love.” Watch the review on YouTube
      • CHENNAI TIME (Tamil) — Good Watch, 6.5/10
“Street reactions praise the performances and the popular 'Kannamma' song, though a few noted the second half and climax drag a little. Bottom line: A well-liked watch with a satisfying, happy ending.” Watch the review on YouTube
      • Chennai Day (Tamil) — One-Time Watch, 6/10
“A mixed take: the acting, songs and climax work, but feels there are too many songs and some underdeveloped character moments, with mixed views on whether the film's central message lands. Bottom line: A decent watch that connects with some viewers more than others.” Watch the review on YouTube
      • Trend Talks (Tamil) — Wait for OTT, 4/10
“A pointed critique calling the screenplay a major weak point and the story poorly conceived, crediting only Aditi Shankar's performance and the music as genuine strengths. Bottom line: A slow watch redeemed mainly by its music and one well-received scene.” Watch the review on YouTube
      • Non-Stop News Tamil (Tamil) — Good Watch, 7/10
“Enthusiastic street reactions praising the music, chemistry between the leads, and a genuine twist, with several calling out this being the director's confident debut. Bottom line: A well-received, lag-free watch according to this crowd.” Watch the review on YouTube
