Hushar Pittalu review: 6.4/10, Must Watch

Telugu · Tollywood · Released 15 Aug 2026

ReviewHub score: 6.4/10 · Verdict: Must Watch — based on 11 YouTube reviews (8 positive, 3 mixed, 0 negative).

A well-meaning message about honest family conversations, wrapped around a first half frank enough that you'll want to have that conversation before you watch it.

Story

In a village, two teenagers, Ravi and Chitti, are drawn into a secret relationship as curiosity, adolescence, and bad influences shape their choices. When their families discover the affair, the couple defies them, setting off a chain of events that reveals how parental mistakes, peer pressure, and youthful attraction can alter young lives forever.

What works

  • A genuinely resonant message about responsibility and honest communication between generations
  • Vasavi Ganesh delivers a natural, well-received performance
  • Strikes an emotional chord specifically with parent viewers
  • Handles a risky subject with care rather than exploitation, according to several reviewers

What doesn't

  • The frank depiction of teen sexuality in the first half is genuinely uncomfortable for many viewers
  • Requires an explicit adult-content warning for family viewing
  • A few reviewers feel the ending's message doesn't fully justify what precedes it
  • Plot feels thin outside of its central message

What each reviewer said

  • Review Talks (Telugu) — Good Watch, 7/10
“An uncomfortable watch with a parent in the first half, but the second half's message about hard work and consequences genuinely lands. Bottom line: a good message film for today's youth.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • ZyroFlix (Telugu) — Good Watch, 7/10
“This one plays like a full story recap and theme breakdown rather than a critique, narrating the teenage leads' relationship and its fallout with their families in detail. Bottom line: frames the film's message about responsibility and honest communication as its real value.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • YoutubeLevii (Telugu) — One-Time Watch, 6/10
“Candidly says the frank depiction of teen sexuality in the first half was genuinely uncomfortable to sit through, but felt the second half's consequences-focused turn justified it. Bottom line: bold, and not for everyone.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Review Talks (Telugu) — Good Watch, 7/10
“Openly acknowledges the first half's bold content might have needed trimming, but praises Vasavi Ganesh's natural performance and the film's genuine message about respect between generations. Bottom line: the reviewer's own score 7/10 — watchable, with real caveats for family viewing.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Madanapalli Masthi (Telugu) — Good Watch, 6/10
“Brief, positive street reaction praising the acting, music, and the film's family-oriented message. Bottom line: recommended as a good watch for everyone.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Madanapalli Masthi (Telugu) — Good Watch, 6/10
“Street reactions praised the social-awareness angle and got genuinely emotional over the family message. Bottom line: a good, message-driven watch by consensus.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Telugu Facts TV (Telugu) — Good Watch, 7/10
“Compares it to prior bold youth dramas like Baby and Love Story, and says fans of that shock-value style will like this one too. Bottom line: a solid attempt in that genre.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Idiot but clever (Telugu) — One-Time Watch, 4/10
“Skeptical that the film's message in its final ten minutes actually earns the explicit content that precedes it, calling the plot thin and the 'lesson' unconvincing. Bottom line: an explicit warning against watching this with family or children.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Mee review guru (Telugu) — One-Time Watch, 6/10
“Relatable youth-focused first half gives way to a serious look at peer pressure and parental decisions in the second, with an explicit adult-content warning for family viewers. Bottom line: the reviewer's own score, 3/5.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Madanapalli Masthi (Telugu) — Good Watch, 7/10
“Extensive street reactions praised the film's message for parents specifically, with several saying the second half hit them emotionally as parents watching their own kids' generation. Bottom line: recommended, though flagged as adult-only viewing given its content.” Watch the review on YouTube
  • Telugu70mm (Telugu) — Good Watch, 7/10
“Recommends parents specifically watch this, saying the directors handled a genuinely risky subject with care rather than exploitation. Bottom line: a film that could change how parents see their kids.” Watch the review on YouTube
